Cork or screwcap: what should you compare?
The closure is practical information, not a quality score.
A screwcap does not rule out ageing. Ageing potential depends on the wine; the closure alone cannot set a drinking date.
Before buying for the cellar, look for producer advice for the exact wine. Record vintage, purchase date, storage and a planned tasting date; revise after opening the first bottle.
When comparing closures, avoid also changing grape, vintage and region: you could not isolate the reason for differences. Without comparable versions, simply describe each bottle’s condition.
